Crochet Classes

After great demand, we are pleased to announce the first set of Crochet Classes starting in 2027.

Perfect for a Christmas Gift for your loved ones who have always wanted to try to learn.

There will be 2 beginners classes of 3 hours and then a follow up class for the basics to keep you going.

These classes will be held at Pecks Farm Shop where you can purchases, tea, coffee cakes and lunch while you are there.

In the beginners class, you will learn how to use your hook, start a chain, learn double and treble crochet all of which are the most common stitches in any pattern. You will also be shown a a method of holding teh yarn that has yet to let anyone down so it won't get caught in your work. In the class, you will be provided with the wool and pattern to make a twisted cowl. As you will probably not get to finish the item, you will go home with enough instructions on how to finish the garment. For this class you will need a 4mm crochet hook.

In the basics class, I will talk you through how colours can completely change a project, show you how to make a square with no join or increase showing and teach my technique to avoid the dreaded twist that can come on a continuous square. We will also talk about tension with some handy tips. I will also show you how to make an invisible join handy in both crochet and knitting. For this class you will need a 4mm crochet hook and at least 2 colours of DK. I will have some available to purchase on the day if needed.

Why choose us to teach you? Robert has taught many people on a 1-2-1 and has had some great feedback about how patient he is and that where other have failed, he has succeeded. He is also local and happy to meet up for follow up if needed. There will also only be a maximum of 5 people in the class so you will get ample time with Robert to show what to do.

Please select from the dates below. You only need to do 1 of the beginners classes not both. The classes will be 10-12:30 on all dates. Robert will email you nearer the time to remind you of the dates and what you need. This is a non refundable product but may be exchanged subject to availability of other dates.
